Join us for a hīkoi to the Pīwakawaka Family Hut as we celebrate the Māori worldview of the environment during Puanga/Matariki.
This is a time for cultural reflection, looking back on the year that’s passed, sharing stories of spiritual significance, and setting intentions for the year ahead.
Te Ara Taiao will share the story of resident kiwi Puanga, remember Kowhai and Aroha who have been lost, and provide updates on the Kaitake Kiwi Project.
We’ll pause at the hut for lunch and a kōrero before returning.
The hīkoi will take approximately three hours and is not suitable for small children.
Please come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear, including tramping boots and wet weather gear.
