About this event

R&D takes on New Years Eve 2020/21!

R&D is back but like you've never seen it before! We are taking on New Years Eve up in the mighty North for what is set to be the best end to a shit year!

We will be bigger and better than ever before...

NEW LOCATION

LOUDER MUSIC

MORE FOOD

MORE TOILETS & WARM SHOWERS

To make this year extra special we have moved the campsite to a new location, which allows for more tents on a more even terrain. We'll have bigger & better speakers/ lighting to hopefully allow for a few people to jump on the decks inside a sturdy (and warm) semi-permanent marquee (this one won't blow away).

We want to keep you fed as well, so look out for the food truck that will remain onsite and keep those tummys just full enough to keep us going all day and night (available at limited times during the morning/ evening). Guys you stay in your toilets & girls you'll have your own, with more available this year. Or possibly a warm private shower to keep you nice and clean...

All right, on to the important stuff

  • Arrivals from 12PM on Tuesday 29 December. This will be considered the "warm up" night, so if you don't want to go too hard too early, arrivals from the 30th are also welcome.
  • Departures will be on Saturday 1 January
  • Carparking is available for those driving up. It is located close to the camp but does require some on-farm/off-road terrain so please bare that in mind. (NO SKIDS IN THE PADDOCKS PLEASE)
  • As stated above the campsite will be fitted with amenities which will also include a small kitchen with sink & kettle.
  • It is BYO camping gear, which includes, but is not limited to, tents, camp chairs (!!), chilly bins etc. This includes portable phone chargers as there are no extra power outlets for these.
  • It is also BYO food and alcohol. There will be a foodtruck on site but this will run on a shift basis so will not be open all day every day. We advise you bring up some non-perishable snacks to keep you going, or shop local and support the local businesses in Ahipara and Kaitaia. There are also numerous alcohol shops in the area should we happen to run out throughout the days.

Now you may have already noticed we have introduced a tiered ticketing system this year. This is to ensure you get in quick and reserve your spot early. We have a number of external suppliers helping us out and it helps us to 1) have an idea of how many people to cater for and 2) not have to pay them out of our own pockets. We have also increased the price for this years event but this is due to the higher calibre of suppliers and ammenities that will be available onsite for the duration of the event. If it helps, compare it to an RnV ticket and then see how ya feel.

That's seems to be about all of it! Looking forward to seeing you all there!
