Event description

Description

Restoration Day is the annual conference for community groups and individuals involved in environmental restoration projects in the Wellington region. The event celebrates your restoration successes and provides opportunities to learn from other community groups and experts in the field.

This year’s regional event comes to you from the Hutt Valley. Join your fellow restoration volunteers in a day of inspiring talks, fieldtrips and workshops, delivered by community experts. This year we will also have a Pecha Kucha - a series of brief presentations on various topics, presented by a range of interesting speakers. For a detailed agenda of the day, please visit naturespace.

Restoration Day 2018 will connect communities and conservation efforts around pest plants and animals, as well as providing updates on other issues affecting your region.

Networking hour will take place between 4.30pm and 5.30pm. Go to the bar for your free drink and canapés and network with other restoration volunteers. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. ID shall be requested should you look under the legal drinking age.

GUIDANCE FOR REGISTRATION

The green ‘Register’ button at the top right of the screen will take you through to the registration screen. When registering, please select Restoration Day 2018 Event Ticket as this is your main event ticket. Please also select a maximum of one field trip per registration. You can find out more about each field trip by clicking 'show info' under each ticket in the registration screen. If you are planning to attend Networking Hour, please select a ticket so we know you're coming along.

You will see from the event programme that workshops run concurrently with field trips. If you do not wish to attend a field trip and prefer to attend both workshops instead, then simply don't select a field trip ticket. There is no need to register for workshops as these are open sessions.

Please note that you can only register for one person at a time. Register early to ensure you get your preferred field trip option.

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of parking at Silverstream Retreat. If you are getting the train to Silverstream station, it is a 20 minute walk to the retreat via Fergusson Drive and Eastern Hutt Road. These are quite busy roads so please take care. The 110 bus from Petone Station pulls up outside the venue on the Eastern Hutt Road.

Is the event catered?

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided as part of the free event. A free drink and canapés will also be provided between 4.30pm - 5.30pm as part of Networking Hour. There will be a cash bar after the first free drink.

Can I register for more than one person?

You should only register for one person at a time. This allows us to collect accurate data on all attendees so that we might produce name badges and respond to any dietary or access requirements. You are able to register more than one person with the same email address.

How many people can attend from our group?

We have limited spaces, so suggest that a maximum of three people per community group should attend the event. However, if someone from your group is presenting or providing support to organisers, they will be considered separate to the group and you can therefore have three additional attendees.

I have further questions. Who do I contact?

For further queries, please contact the event manager via email at restorationday@gw.govt.nz.
