Event description

Description

Join Joe Prebble as he takes a close look at what fossils can tell us about how the environment of New Zealand, and the surrounding ocean, has changed over the last few million years. Dr Joe Prebble is palaeontologist at GNS Science, who uses microscopic fossil algae to understand past changes to the oceans around New Zealand.

This lecture is part of the series Blood from a stone: A fossil history of life, death and the mayhem in between by Victoria University of Wellington and GNS Science. The previous lectures can be viewed online: https://www.victoria.ac.nz/science/research/public-lectures.

The series will finish with an International Fossil Day field trip in October.
