At these courses you will learn how to:

Registrations are now open for these two-day courses, designed for crew owners, foremen, supervisors and others who lead people in forestry.

What you will learn at these courses:

Our teams are made up of individuals who often see things quite differently. What one person considers acceptable another might view as unsafe.

We know ‘telling adults what to think’ doesn’t change behaviour. So, our leadership challenge is to get people to agree on what the team wants to achieve, and to get them committed to doing things a certain way.

This course is designed to help leaders develop the skills needed to influence individuals and teams to make good, safe decisions while achieving top results. It was developed by Safetree and training experts The Learning Wave, in partnership with the industry.

33 forestry leaders took part in a pilot of this course earlier in the year in Whangarei, Gisborne and Balclutha. Participants rated their overall experience at 90%, and scored the course at 85% for improving their ability to perform their job as a leader.
