Workshop Details

Title: Satellite Workshop 2 – Comparing & Contrasting Financial Tools for Earthquake Resilience
Convener: Ken Elwood

This workshop will explore and contrast various financial and economic models used in earthquake resilience research including engineering loss estimation, benefit-cost analysis, multiple capital models, and computable general equilibrium models (eg MERIT). Presentations will be provided on the basis of each approach and the workshop attendees will be asked to identify the strengths, weaknesses, and possible inter-operability of the models.
