Healthy Families Rotorua, in partnership with Waiariki BoP Polytechnic, Rotorua Lakes Council and Toi Te Ora Public Health is running a FREE showcase event on school food on the 28th of October, 1pm-4.30pm.
This event will showcase some amazing examples of school-food enterprises that show how your school food-order service or school garden can become a sustainable social enterprise.
Come along and learn how the Epuni School (Lower Hutt) garden has transformed their community throught he CommonUnity Aotearoa project, creating employment, business and income opportunities, and provided nourishing food and valuable learning opportunities for their students.
Hear how Ka Pai Kai started as a school lunch service in the local hospital, and transformed to a community-based social enterprise that provides healthy, affordable lunches to 8+ schools in the Tokoroa community.
Find out about the Garden to Table Trust, and how you can engage in their programme.
