SCREEN TIME - TO BE OR NOT TO BE??
Thu 13 October 2016, 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM NZDT
What happens when you say "time to get off that computer / tablet / phone / game"??? Does it seem like you are asking them to rip one of their arms off? Does it feel like you have told them the world is over?
Screen use is a very new thing for our society - but it has already become a huge part of our everyday lives. It is something the research is scrabbling to understand and keep up with. Luckily there is information coming out around how screen use impacts our development. This is essential to understand if you want to do the best for your children.
Using easy-to-understand language, this session will inform you of what happens when we use screens, why it is so difficult to turn them off (even for ourselves!!) and what we can do to limit the negatives and embrace the positives. It is information every parent must know if we want to do the best for our children.
