Leading Collaboration

About this Event

While collaboration carries appealing connotations of working closely together, it is quite complex to truly embed throughout an organisation’s culture.

In this session, we will take a good hard look at what collaboration (as opposed to similar processes such as co-ordination and teamwork) is, the obstacles and barriers organisations meet in pursuing it, and the kind of leadership required.

The session will also involve a case study of collaboration involving two of the world’s most well-known companies (Sony and Apple), identification of the four most common barriers to collaboration in organisations, and a platform for building collaborative capacity and leadership.

Introducing Brigid Carroll

Brigid Carroll is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and International Business here at the Business School. She has designed, led, facilitated and researched leadership and its development for 15 years and specialises in the mindset and practices of leadership, leadership in contexts of change and uncertainty, and adaptive, relational and collaborative leadership processes.

She has worked extensively with private and public sector organisations, professional and knowledge-orientated enterprises, and community networks and initiatives.

Brigid is a facilitator on Executive Education's Leadership Mindset Programme.
