Event description

Description

Soft tissue sarcomas are tumours that veterinary surgeons encounter on a regular basis. They represent approximately 15% of all skin and subcutaneous cancers in the dog. I am sure that you have all encountered either a fibrosarcoma, peripheral nerve sheath tumours and haemangiopericityomas on your histopathology reports after you surgically removed the lump! Do you know how STSs behave? What are the best pre-surgery test/s to diagnose them? Do you know how to calculate and administer the correct surgical dose? Have you considered radiotherapy as an adjuvant treatment option? I read a case report where Palldia can cured a dog with a gastro-intestinal stromal tumours (GIST). Does Chemotherapy work?

Do you have more quandries and queries?

Then come along to APT Solutio.nz’ day course on Soft Tissue Sarcomas. This will give you answers to the above questions and more. You will be lectured in the morning by Dr Kat Crosse, veterinary surgeon, and Dr Valerie Poirier, veterinary oncologist, from Massey University. In the afternoon there will be a wet lab where Dr Crosse will take you through some of the important surgical techniques to make sure you are administering the correct surgical dose. At the end of this course APT Solutio.nz wants you to return to your practice and be able to deal confidently deal with next STS that crosses your path.
