This course introduces you to the social determinants of health (SDH). These are the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes. They are the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems that shape the conditions of daily life (World Health Organisation, 2023).
Course Overview:
- Modules: Learn about the social determinants of health, the impact on communities, deep dive into a couple of specific determinants, discuss equity and how to take action as a health promoter, through four engaging modules.
- Assessment: Complete short quizzes to earn your badge of completion.
- Timeframe: Finish in approximately 2-4 hours, with six months to complete from enrolment.
