Ākina is inviting you to Ngahere Communities (Ākina's South Auckland base) for a free info session about social enterprise legal structures and access to capital with our friends Gareth Worthington and Amber Hosking from Russell McVeagh.

About Gareth Worthington (Russell McVeagh)
Gareth is a special counsel with significant expertise in securities law, mergers and acquisitions, funds management, private equity and other corporate transactions. He has advised entities of all sizes and forms, from start-ups through to publicly listed companies. He advised Origin Energy on its dual-track IPO and sale process, Tasman District Council in relation to the Waimea Dam, Bayada Inc on its acquisition of a significant minority stake in Healthvision and various social/impact enterprises (Freshdesk; Impact Investing Network National Advisory Board; Bridget Williams Books) on their legal structures. He has also advised the Ākina Foundation on the legal aspects of the establishment of "Fwd:", the trial of Impact Hubs, the Investment Readiness Grants and Launchpad Work. His work for Origin Energy was recognised at the 2018 Australian Law Awards (Energy and Resources Deal of the Year) and the 2018 New Zealand Law Awards (New Zealand Deal of the Year and International Deal of the Year).
About Amber Hosking (Russell McVeagh)
Amber is a solicitor in the Russell McVeagh corporate team who is currently seconded to Ākina. She has really enjoyed working with social enterprise clients to make the current legal structures work for them to achieve their impact and has been involved with the Ākina research project into whether there is a need for a new legal structure for social enterprise in NZ.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Public transport: 100m from Manukau Bus Station and 250m from Manukau Train Station.
Parking: Ronwood Avenue Carpark (a 3 minute walk from car park). Day Rate is $2 per hour. Parking at Westfield Manukau is FREE, however there are time restrictions of 2-4 hours so check before you park here.
