Solstice Sadhana Reset - Community Celebration
Overview
As the Summer Solstice approaches, the planet comes to a certain stillness. In yogic understanding, this is not simply an astronomical event. The very way the human system responds to life shifts. If you are willing, this becomes a powerful time to realign your body, mind, and energies toward what truly matters.
We invite you to spend an afternoon and evening in a space specifically designed for this purpose. Not as another social gathering, but as a conscious step to close the year with clarity and begin the next one from a stable, centred place within yourself.
SCHEDULE:
2:00 – 4:00 pm
Hatha Yoga & Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya (for initiates)
For those initiated into Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya, this is an opportunity to do your full practice in a committed atmosphere. When a group of people moves with the same intention, the possibility opens up to touch a deeper dimension of the practice. This is a gentle rinsing of the year’s clutter, leaving the system lighter and more receptive.
4:00 – 5:30 pm
Open Sadhana Session
This session is for everyone. A simple arrangement of breath, sound, and guided stillness. No previous experience needed. If you have been steady in your practice, this supports you to deepen. If you have fallen off, this helps you return without struggle. If you are new, this is a doorway into a more balanced way of being.
6:00 – 7:00 pm
Guru Pooja followed by Devi Sadhana
Sitting for Guru Pooja and Devi Sadhana is a way of making yourself receptive. Not to something outside of you, but to the deeper intelligence that functions within you. When approached with the right sense of involvement, this hour can bring a surprising sense of ease and alignment, especially during the Solstice period.
7:00 pm onwards
Potluck, Gift Sharing & Community Celebration
Once the inner work is settled, we gather for a simple meal. Please bring a vegetarian, sattvic dish to share. Bring a small Christmas gift worth under $10 to share with someone else. Nothing elaborate. Just a way of offering a part of yourself. After the meal, we will share a few light-hearted games and time in each other’s company. Joy, when shared consciously, becomes a different kind of nourishment.
What to bring:
- A satvik vegetarian meal to share at the Potluck
- One small gift under $10 for the gift exchange
Why this day matters
The Summer Solstice marks the beginning of a six-month period when the sun begins its northward journey. In yogic understanding, this shift subtly influences the human system.
For those committed to inner work, this period of time is called the “sadhana pada”, the time best suited for purification, deep practice, and re-alignment.
That means this Solstice isn’t just another date: it’s an energetic window. The earth’s shift triggers a shift within you, your system becomes more receptive, more malleable. If you use this time consciously, the possibilities for inner balance and clarity increase.
Doing yoga, pranayama, meditation now, preferably in a supportive group, increases your chance to reset patterns, calm the system, purify the body and mind. It’s a real doorway for renewal.
What happens on the outside, seasons, cycles, sun’s movement, also happens inside each of us. When you align your inner rhythm with the planet’s rhythm, sadhana becomes more profound.
That’s why this time matters. This is why we gather. It’s about aligning with nature’s cycles, and using that shift to carry ourselves into the next year with clarity, balance, and presence.
