FREE ADMISSION: A day of songwriting and song performance workshops for secondary students at the University of Auckland School of Music

About this event

Calling all songwriters in years 11-13!

Join us at the School of Music for a day of songwriting and song performance workshops exploring songwriting and collaborative techniques as well accompaniment and vocal performance, hosted by the BMus Popular Music Songwriting Programme.

Tutored by Godfrey de Grut (Silver Scroll Winner) and Stephen Matthews (NZ Music Award Finalist), these workshops will support students preparing for NCEA Level 1-3 unit standards. Students in year 11, 12 or 13 (ages 15+) are invited to attend.

This event is for songwriters (this means you have composed at least 2-3 songs or more) and are able to sing and accompany yourself on either a chordal instrument, MPC or similar.

Cost: FREE ADMISSION but registration is essential and spaces are limited! Register online by Friday 23 July.

Where: The University of Auckland's historic music studios at the Kenneth Myers Centre, 74 Shortland Street. Enter via side entrance to building (loading bay), through the double doors.
