Event description

Description

You are invited to attend an immersive and fun two and a half hour workshop in the art of sourdough bread making. By the end of the evening you will have learned the process of sourdough baking from start to finish, and go home with a shaped loaf ready to be baked the next day. You will also be given some sourdough starter to use in your continued journey of sourdough baking.

This workshop will be lead by Jerome Ozich, a local bread maker who got his start as an award-winning baker in his home country, New Zealand. Jerome, a skilled and thorough instructor, has real passion for the unique craft of baking sourdough bread, as well as a special interest in using local and organic grains.

With a beer or glass of wine in hand you will experience and learn:

How to mix your own dough using flour, water, and sea salt.

How to nurture, and maintain sourdough starter, the sometimes decades old culture that is used in sourdough baking.

How to shape your bread, give it rise and flavour, as well as how one might play with, and alter recipes to suit their own tastes.

Throughout the evening you will get to sample some already cooked sourdough loaves served with a selection of dips, cheeses, and tasty olive oil.

Tickets are £30 per person and include food and drink. More alcoholic beverages will be offered for purchase by our host Bottega Caruso.

Space is limited so please book promptly.

Email jeromeozich93@gmail.com or call 07597-561656 to reserve your spot, or if you have any enquires.
