South Island Women’s Symposium - Unleash Your Potential

Join us and a talented, inspirational and diverse line-up of speakers for our first South Island Women’s Symposium in Twizel on 8 November 2019!

The theme of the symposium is ‘Unleash Your Potential’, and we aim to energise and empower you to do just that by connecting with other women in a collaborative, creative and inclusive environment.

Our keynote speaker is Fatumata Bah, an Auckland-based student, advocate and diversity activist. Despite facing personal cultural challenges and adversity, Fatumata strives to make every day count, campaigning on national and global issues, and leading and inspiring those around her with courage and vision.

We have a fabulous line-up of speakers for the day, who will provide you the opportunity to reflect, discover and activate pathways for unleashing your leadership journey:

• Kotahi Mano Kaika Senior Advisor, Te Runanga O Ngai Tahu Victoria Campbell will provide insights on how to strengthen leadership through identity and culture
• International leadership expert Sharon Blanchard will share how to live and breathe authenticity through principled leadership.
• Semi-retired education specialist Jan Cowan will engage you creatively to discover your superpower – your potential.
• Fitness trainer and businesswoman Kate Ivey will talk about the importance of maintaining physical and mental well-being to optimise your leadership potential.
• Waitaki MP Jacqui Dean will bring to the table her own experiences of balancing peace, power and politics.
• Marketing professional and board director Sarah Ottrey will provide a pathway for balancing work, career, health, and a zest for life and adventure.

The day also includes an interactive workshop, a networking lunch and trade stands to visit – and, of course, a fantastic goody bag to take home.

The South Island Women’s Symposium 2019 is being organised by Leadership for Women, a Twizel-based group set up by women for women to connect, collaborate and create. Both Leadership for Women and the South Island Women’s Symposium are the brainchild of Dr Sharon Blanchard, owner of the Principled Leadership Institute and an international expert on the theories and practical application of principled leadership.
