Event Details

If you are a customer of Southern Response (SR) then this meeting is for you.

Some background - A group of around 99 people gathered at the offices of SR to present their concerns on how they have been treated, the quality of the work on their properties, the excessive delays, the variation from scope and what is considered the bully tactics of SR. At these two events this so called “hardcore group” presented what is now known as a One Pager. The objective being to present the grievance and to get some communication going towards an outcome.

What has also happened, is those of us that got involved in this have learnt HEAPS and it is helping us better ensure we are provided by SR with our legal entitlement, nothing more, nothing less.

We have information to share with others and we think there are many,
many more than this so called HARDCORE.

We have a number of events we will plan over the upcoming year – leading into the election with the purpose of:

Sharing Information with the SR customer

Providing support to the wider SR community

Stay visible to ensure SR consistently deliver to their Values.

We also intending to help educate ourselves and other SR customers that wish to approach their own situation better informed for example:

What does As New really mean?

What is a reasonable vs unreasonable delay?

Who can assess your home?

How many inspections are enough?

For a detailed agend of the event please go to our website:

go to the Events Page and you can download the Agenda.

Ali Jones will Chair this event and we hope to have a least one high end legal advisor as well as Building Surveyors, QS and Engineers (independent  of insurance companies) speak if we can arrange them in time.

In addition we are looking across the board to identify if there is in fact a case for Group Action. It has been suggested, by our legal advisor, that there may well already be sufficient evidence to look seriously into this – and the outcome could change the entire face of the insurance industry in New Zealand – this is not just about SR and Canterbury, it could benefit all of New Zealand.

We would request a donation of $5 per person attending to help cover costs related to the use of the meeting venue and establishing to group. However a gold coin donation is fine if $5 is unaffordable.
