PRIVATE EVENT: Space Walk - Whitby's Scale Solar System - Sunday 7th Oct 10 am

PRIVATE EVENT FOR WELLINGTON EXPLORERS PAID MEMBERS ONLY:

Come and explore the Solar System with the wonderful Matt Reading, who we met a few weeks ago with his amazing BB8 and IronMan creations.

Matt is the designer and creator of the Whitby's NZ Scale Solar System, a miniature Solar System right here in Whitby NZ, waiting to be explored. Over a 2 km track you will find the sun and all 8 planets, plus some extra bonus astronomical points of interest. Matt will lead us through the solar system, getting some exercise along the way and a chance for lots of questions and space discussions.

This event is open to all ages, so bring the family along. The Solar System track begins at the end of Mercury Way, Whitby and finishes up by the Upper Lake (close to Adventure School). It is a 2km ro 4km return trip. There is a short section of uphill unpaved track at the beginning of the walk to Spinnaker Summit, which is not suitable for wheelchairs. We have allowed around 1.5hr for this event.
