Description

Storytelling with Physical Theatre

Presented by award winning actor, director, puppeteer, designer and teacher:

Kate Parker

Time: Monday afternoons(8th May – 3rd July 2017)

Venue: St Cuthbert’s College, Performing Arts Centre, Room 1.01

Who can attend:

Juniors, Years 3 – 6:

3:15 – 4:45pm

Through these practical classes we will explore and play with visual storytelling using movement, imagery and puppetry. We will work with elements such as paper, fabric, sticks and cardboard and look at uses of imagery within devising theatre. The students will develop skills in creative listening, working together, extending their imagination and physical theatre techniques.

Students need to wear clothes that they can move easily in. Plain clothes work best, no big stripes or logos please. Uniform is fine.

Is there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This course is open to all Year 3 - Year 6 students

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Access to the Performing Arts Centre is via the Wapiti Avenue Gate. Free parking is available on site.

What can I bring into the event?

Students do not need to bring anything to the classes, all material will be provided.
