Star Media is pleased to invite you to our breakfast event with guest speaker Peter Townsend speaking to you about the future of Christchurch.

Peter Townsend is the Chief Executive of the Canterbury Employers Chambers of Commerce, and has held this position since 1996. The Chamber, as the largest business support agenecy in the South Island, concentrates on assisting members to improve their enterprises; ensuring members can operate in a business friendly environment; and encouraging new levels of business activity. He is actively engaged in earthquake recovery issues, and he was appointed to the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Advisory Board in transition in 2015, and when it was terminated in February 2016 Peter was appointed as a Director of Otakaro Ltd, the new Crown company established to deliver key anchor projects and precincts in Christchurch.

Peter will be speaking about the 2017 election results, and what will potentially be the outcomes for business in Canterbury. He will speak about projections for economic growth in Christchurch over the next 3-5 years; touching on implications for retailers, immigration projections, population growth for Christchurch and share success stories from locally based businesses that the Chamber has worked closley with. Peter will also answer any questions you may have.

This will be a great opportunity for buisness leaders to come together and discuss the future of growth in our city.
