Event description

Description

Is your child a bit picky with their eating, or having a hard time trying new foods? Or would you just like to know how to keep things on the right track?

On behalf of the University of Auckland, we're inviting you to come join us for a free community education session at Green Bay Community House.

We'll cover:

  • How feeding skills develop, and why problems can occur
  • Ways to reduce stress and frustration at mealtimes
  • Strategies you can use to encourage your child to enjoy eating and try new foods
  • Strategies that are practical for children with disabilites

Come join us, and meet other families dealing with similar issues

This workshop will be lead by Zsofia Olah (Speech Language Therapist) and Dr. Sarah Leadley (Psychologist and Lecturer). Both have years of experience in working with children with feeding difficulties, alongside their families, and are parents too.

Please note, this workshop is an introduction and is aimed at preschool aged children. Workshops covering more specific age ranges are planned for 2019. This session may not be suitable if your child is already having big challenges with eating (e.g., if your're already under the care of a paediatrician or dietitian regarding eating).

We are hoping to make this session most available to families. If you are a professional, please get in touch if you are interested in a workshop for your organisation.
