Event description

Description

Join us for an afternoon event with Professor Cathy Stinear where she’ll be discussing her latest research into stroke recovery by utilising neuroimaging tools to accurately predict motor recovery and outcomes after stroke for individual patients. Stroke is one of the leading causes of adult disability worldwide and the research Professor Stinear and her team are developing has bought New Zealand to the forefront of acute stroke management.

Professor Cathy Stinear completed her PhD in Movement Neuroscience at the University of Auckland in 2004. She then worked for 4 years as a post-doctoral fellow on a large randomised controlled trial of stroke rehabilitation, before joining the Department of Medicine as a Senior Lecturer in 2008. She has been a Professor since 2019 and is currently Deputy Head of Department.

Doors will open at 1.30pm and the event will start at 2pm. Afternoon tea will be served after the presentation.

Parking is available onsite.
