Event Information
Description
From Victim to Survivor - Walking through the Criminal Justice System
In commemoration of 123 years of women’s suffrage in Aotearoa New Zealand, sexual violence survivor advocate Louise Nicholas will be speaking about her journey from victim to survivor.
Louise is a survivor of child and adult rape, and of a justice system that saw her battle her way through 7 court cases. She now works as a National Survivor Advocate, and represents survivor perspectives in service development and the sexual violence and abuse services sector.
Louise will be speaking about her journey from victim to survivor. She will also be presented with the Women's Health Rights Award for her contribution to women's health through supporting and advocating for survivors, and challenging the way services in New Zealand respond to sexual violence cases.
There will also be a raffle of amazing prizes donated by generous sponsors. Cash raffle tickets available on the night.
Ticket includes nibbles and a glass of wine or juice.
Tickets are limited and door sales will not be available.
