Tackling Tall Poppy Syndrome... With Jay Geldard

About this event

Tackling Tall Poppy Syndrome with Jay Geldard image

We are excited to present the 10th Christchurch Business Forum networking breakfast which will be held on Friday 4th of March 2022.

The purpose underlying these events is to (i) present challenging content and in particular how faith affects our businesses (ii) encourage each other, and (iii) make new connections over great food.

We are excited to welcome Jay Geldard. Jay is the founder of E Tū Tāngata - Stand Together. Working within an amazing team to tackle Tall Poppy Syndrome to Transform Communities in New Zealand. Through E Tū Tāngata transformational process, Jay and his team are ringing generational change in our youth through encouraging conversations throughout classrooms, workplaces, families and wider communities.

The purpose of E Tū Tāngata is to create a culture in New Zealand where we stand together rather than pull each other down.

Jay has been involved in youth work since 2003 and is passionate about young people, their families and the communities they live in. He has led 24-7 YouthWork for over 10 years and is an influential leader and strategic thinker. Jay is not one to walk away from challenges and flourishes on seeking solutions for impossible tasks. This leads to many whiteboard sessions as he loves to approach problems from an alternative perspective.

Hear how Jay's faith has supported him in his mission to transform the lives of New Zealander's, and how when we support and encourage one another our wellbeing and resilience increases; we feel more confident to make our contribution in the world, to overcome problems together, and to achieve more than we ever thought was possible.

As an organising committee we felt it was important to restart these networking breakfasts. We always received such positive feedback and have had numerous people asking when the next event would be. If you enjoyed them as much as others, we encourage you to pass on the invitation and let others share the same faith filled experience that you and hundreds of others have.

All the best and look forward to seeing you on the Friday 4th of March 2022.

Steven, Scott, Jacqui, Dietmar, Aaron
