Event description
Catch up with fellow alumni and learn how Professor Steven Dakin and his team are conducting innovative research and breaking down barriers.

About this event

Join us for an eye-opening evening

Research in optometry is addressing a vast range of problems, from developing contact lenses that permanently correct myopia in children by reshaping their eyes while they sleep, to using artificial intelligence to diagnose macular disease in older adults.

Join us to hear how neuroscientist Professor Steven Dakin and his team are conducting innovative research and breaking down barriers so more people can access healthcare for their eyes.

Steven has been the Head of the School of Optometry and Vision Science since 2013, ensuring the University is leading the way in accessible vision healthcare.

This will be an excellent opportunity to hear from one of our experts, as well as the chance to catch up with fellow alumni.

  • Dress code: smart casual
  • Canapés and drinks will be served

If you have any queries about the event, please contact Brent Hemi - alumni-events@auckland.ac.nz

Important note: photographs / video will be taken at this event by the University. If you don't want to appear in any photos or video footage, please contact the events team at alumni-events@auckland.ac.nz
