Description

Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your School – One-day FREE workshop

Research completed by ERO in 2011 found the ‘Treaty of Waitangi’ principle the least well covered by Aotearoa New Zealand schools, in terms of responding to and being included in the curriculum.

Cognition Education is excited to present FREE PLD Workshops across Tai Tokerau … ‘Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your School’.

The purpose of these workshops is two-fold. Firstly, to develop a Treaty of Waitangi Framework to meet the curriculum needs of tamariki Māori and whānau Māori in your kura/school. Secondly, to address the inability of school leaders and kaiako/teachers to articulate their roles, responsibilities and aspirations as they adhere to the Treaty of Waitangi principle and the Principles of the Treaty.

These workshops are a stepping stone to implementing the three new proposed PLD priority areas; Building cultural capability, local curriculum design, and using information to support learning.

Join Jenna Crowley and Mere Snowden for this practical, interactive session that is designed for Principals and other school leaders to get a taste of how to address these challenges. Bring your laptop and any current school curriculum material you want to work with during the session.
