About this event

  • 2 hours

The Terry Fox Run is an annual 5km fun run/walk held to raise money for cancer research.

Suitable for participants of all ages and abilities, it is an all-inclusive, non-competitive event – families, strollers, dogs are all welcome.

It has been held around the world annually since 1981, and now it's here in NZ!

WHO WAS TERRY FOX?

The run is named after Terry Fox, a young Canadian who set out to run across Canada after losing his right leg to cancer. Along the way he raised money for cancer research. To date, over $850 million dollars have been raised globally in Terry’s name, bringing hope and health to families affected by cancer.

WHY ARE WE FUNDRAISING?

In keeping with Terry Fox's wishes, there is no registration fee and no minimum fundraising requirements.

One of the things that makes the Terry Fox Run unique is that there is no corporate sponsorship.

All funds donated go towards the Cancer Research Trust New Zealand.
