Event description

Description

Independent curator and editor of Surface Design Journal, Elizabeth Kozlowski will share her professional practice as it relates to curatorial activism (a term coined by Maura Reilly) and the decolonization of museum spaces. Kozlowski will also provide an overview of her most recent exhibition, Material Domestication which utilizes the framework of traditional fiber-based techniques as sculptural explorations invested in the dismantling of historical markers of gender. In association with The College of Art, Design and Architecture (ADA), Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin.

Elizabeth Kozlowski is touring Aotearoa New Zealand thanks to an initiative by The Costume and Textiles Association of New Zealand and the generous support of Creative New Zealand. While in Aotearoa she will be visiting the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, Otago Polytechnic Schools of Art and Design, Auckland University of Technology, Massey University and The Dowse Art Museum.
