Calling all writers - let's get together! The Big Mid-Spring Write-In is a motivating, fun writing event - join us to write & get inspired.

This is how we roll...

We get together, we ease in with creative writing prompts then we start writing. Then we hang out over a leisurely and delicious morning tea - and then we write some more.

Tutor: Kathryn Burnett

Kathryn is an award-winning screenwriter and playwright who has worked in the NZ television/film industry for over 20 years. She is also an award-winning columnist and runs the popular Writing Room. She has significant television and film credits and has developed numerous television series for NZ’s major production companies. Her most recently produced TV credits include – “Fresh Eggs,” “The Sounds” and “The Cul de Sac.” She is also on the development team for an HBO sci-fi series and has a comedy series in development with Warner Brothers.

    A: No, this isn't about learning how. This is a creative get together for writers who want to focus on their writing and get motivated.

    Q: Does it matter what type of project I'm writing?

    A: Nope - it can be anything from a bunch of haiku to a screenplay to an epic novel - it's entirely up to you.

    Q: Will I have to share my work?

    A: Nope.

    Q: What should I bring?

    A: Your laptop and pen & paper.

    Q: Tell me about the morning tea break?
