Event description
Me Hoki Whakamuri Kia Anga Whakamua The Faculty of Engineering and the Haka – our story.

About this Event

You are invited to attend the Premier Screening of Me Hoki Whakamuri Kia Anga Whakamua – the Faculty of Engineering’s short and powerful documentary showcasing our tumultuous history with the haka and the Māori community and how we’re moving boldly into the future with a bespoke haka and a community based on he waka eke noa (we’re all in this together).

On 6 December 2019, Te Herenga Mātai Pūkaha – the new Faculty of Engineering’s building – was officially opened with a dawn blessing. This was a unique moment in time and the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the past and firmly establish our intention for the future.

This documentary tracks the story of the faculty from back in the 1970’s to the present day, watching as the team of staff and students, prepare and perform Me Hoki Whakamuri Kia Anga Whakamua for the very first time.

Be the first to see our epic journey – we hope you can join us.
