Description

EVENING SESSION: 6pm to 8pm for Parents/Caregivers

A Trust MYRIVR Event Proudly Sponsored By CLOUD39.

The Power of Kindness in Helping Your Child with Weight-Related Issues for Parents and Caregivers presentation will provide parents and caregiver with ‘real’ language to guide conversations with their child about their weight.

We will explore the best practices for choosing whether or not to discuss weight gain or loss with a child. There will be a short exercise provided for parents/caregivers to help them find their own voice and words to initiate the conversation with their child if they choose to do so. We will also explore how
to help parents/caregivers and children can foster compassion as a new way to think about obesity.

Striving to become the adult you want your child to be means reflecting, dreaming, and cultivating a sense of worthiness in your self and in your child. One of many ways to do this is to develop a few achievable goals and then creating a plan of action. Whether it is actively changing the way we speak about weight and body shapes, or cultivating healthy eating and activity habits we need to take the first steps to improve our own health and happiness.

Our Keynote Speakers Include:
