About this event

90 Minute talk - followed by kai

This special panel brings together leading voices in the revitalisation of Moko Kanohi (traditional Māori facial tattoo), exploring its powerful resurgence across Aotearoa.

Through rich kōrero and artistic expression, this special panel session celebrates moko as a living practice—deeply rooted in whakapapa, cultural identity, and collective pride.

The panel will share personal journeys, community perspectives, and the evolving role of moko in contemporary Māori life, reaffirming its place as both a taonga and a statement of resilience.

Panel Includes:

Ngairo Eruera - Pukenga Matua

Julie Paama-Pengelly - Practitioner of Ta Moko

Moana Ngatai - Kaitautoko Tauira

Kereama Hoete (Mr G) - Multi Disciplinary Artist
