Event description
Music of the 1940s, presented by Tauranga Civic Choir and Tauranga City Brass.

About this event

Join us to celebrate and remember great music from the 1940s presented by Tauranga's longest established choir. A fantastic concert filled with music from the era including Glenn Miller, Vera Lynn, Judy Garland, Gracie Fields, Andrews Sisters, and musicals of the time. There will also be narration by well-known TV personality Peter Williams, photos from the era, and magnificent band music from Tauranga City Brass. Come along and be part of a spectacular event that is sure to get your toes tapping.

Saturday 25th September: Two shows - 2pm and 7.30pm

The concert will be an entertaining 2.5 hours with an intermission midway through.

Profits from these concerts will be donated to Waipuna Hospice. Waipuna Hospice is not funded by government. While some of their services are contracted by the District Health Board, they need to raise $4.9 million in the coming financial year to meet the shortfall in their operating costs. That’s $94,000 per week.
