Event description
A cocktail party for the sewing community to connect in person.

About this event

This event has reached capacity. Please add your name to the waitlist if a ticket becomes available.

Frocktails is a cocktail party for the sewing community to connect in person. It gives you a chance to dress up, connect with other like-minded makers and have a night out to show off a garment or accessory that you have made.

The concept for the event is to spend a weekend in Wellington and connecting with like-minded creatives. The venue Naumi Hotel is located centrally in Cuba Street and is a visual delight. We have hired the bar and connecting green room for the event. The event will bring together the creative community, build connections and fosters creativity.

Sewists of all levels are welcome to this event. Along with the main Frocktails event, there will be an optional brunch on Sunday morning with visits to fabric stores. There will be prizes, goodie bags and more importantly, an opportunity for us to dress up and make new sewing friends! Open to all ages and genders this is a night to bust out the sequins and paint the town red.

What does my ticket include?

  • Exclusive entry to the Frocktails event - limited to 50 tickets.
  • Two cocktails or mocktails of your choice.
  • Delicious canapés.
  • An opportunity to meet other people in the sewing community - meet and make new friends!
  • A goodie bag with lots of discounts.
  • Exclusive access to the private Frocktails Facebook group to help us all connect before and after the event.
  • Discounted accommodation at the hotel ($150 per room per night) where the venue is located - available until 14 June.
  • A professional event photographer to capture you and your friends in your gorgeous outfits.
  • There will be a few fun optional activities to participate in on the night!
  • The optional add on of a Sunday post-event brunch at Field and Green and a group fabric shopping trip.

How accessible is the venue?

The venue is accessibility friendly. It is on the ground floor of the hotel and has toilets in the function space. The venue has plenty of space for standing, seating, dancing and photos.

What will the prizes be?

At this stage as this event is under new management. We are in the process of arranging sponsorship for the event however we wanted to give makers as much time as possible to create a garment.

If you want to sponsor the event please contact emma@emmasatelierblog.com.

Do I have to wear something that I have made?

We highly encourage you to wear something you have made, whether it's part or all of your outfit. Me Made is not compulsory. It's a night to have fun and feel fabulous with like-minded people!

Will I have a name tag?

There will be a prize on the night given out for the best name tag which has been created prior to the event. A name tag can be as a brooch, choker necklace, fascinator etc. We suggest putting your name and Instagram handle on your name tag.

On the night we will also have name tag stickers on which you can write your details if you do not want to create your own name tag as part of your garment.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes of course, the more the merrier so long as your friend has purchased a ticket to the event.

How many people will be there?

We have a limit of 50 tickets to sell. Please don't be afraid to come by yourself, everyone is very friendly and the aim of the night/weekend is to connect with other like-minded humans.

Will there be a photographer?

We will have an official event photographer on the night. The photography for this event has been sponsored by our Premier sponsor The Fine Cloth Company.

We will be loading photos onto Facebook and Instagram after the event. If you do not want to be photographed please advise the event organisers.

What if I don't drink?

Not to worry we have a non-alcoholic ticket option, which includes two drinks from the non-alcoholic beverage menu. The price for non-alcoholic tickets are the same as alcoholic as the same price per head applies regardless of what is consumed.

With the generosity of sponsors, we will have a few spot prize which will be awarded on the night. Each ticket is one entry into the prize draw and the recipient must be present to win.

More information on sponsors coming soon!
