The Temple of Flora - Botanical Assemblage Workshop (New Winter 2022 date)
Event Information
About this event
A sumptuous workshop in Botanical Assemblage. Create a plant based artwork working with fresh and dried botanical specimens gathered from around Banks Peninsula. Along the way we'll explore the curious overlapping art historical traditions of Botanical Art, Vanitas and Memento Mori.
Sarah Amazinnia is a Botanic Designer and Artist. Plants are the basis of my creative practice. I grow many of the botanical specimens I work with and forage through a network of old gardens and discovered landscapes. I work from my Lyttelton based gallery and studio.
Price includes all botanical specimens. Please BYO scissors and secateurs/handheld clippers.
This workshop is being held in the historic Stoddart Cottage in beautiful Diamond Harbour, the oldest colonial dwelling on the Banks Peninsula - under an hour’s drive from central Christchurch and a short trip on the ferry from Lyttelton. It is part of the Creative Cottage workshop series supported by Creative Communities funding.
