Professional Development Grounded in Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori.

About this Event

This 1-Day Wānanga (workshop) is focused on understanding the founding document of Aotearoa, New Zealand, and the role it plays in your organisation and the community.

Understanding the Treaty of Waitangi will strengthen your ability to move confidently in Te Ao Māori (the Māori world) and will ensure cultural responsiveness is genuine and appropriate when engaging with whānau, hapū and iwi.

You'll walk away with an understanding of:

  • How worldviews shape attitudes and behaviours.
  • Settlement practices and attitudes of Māori and Pākehā to land.
  • British global colonisation attitudes and practices.
  • The why, when, who and how the Treaty came into being.
  • What the Treaty means and its intentions.
  • Land wars, laws and confiscation.
  • The role of The Treaty of Waitangi informing workplace and performance management practices.

Join us for an energising day of professional development so you can engage confidently and respectfully when working with Māori. He takitini te hāere – Progress together.

Price: $299 GST inclusive + $12.73 booking fee
