About this event

Tony has been working as an economist in New Zealand since returning from Sydney in 1987. He worked initially with Westpac, followed by a share broking firm, and then 26 years with BNZ (almost 25 years as Chief Economist). He is well-known for his summaries and talks on current events and their impact on the economy, most notably, the housing market. He has been a guest speaker for a variety of venues including the NZPIF conferences, and has a down-to-earth approach in his delivery of economic information.

We are excited to have him join us on a Zoom call to discuss the following:

-why house prices have soared 31% since May 2020

-impact of the March 23 tax announcement

-impact of Lockdown 2

-factors expected to slow the pace of price rises in the coming year and years

-likely RBNZ and government policy developments in the coming year
