Description

Applied Language Studies and Linguistics

We are all human beings, and as such we are all native speakers of at least one human language. To study linguistics is therefore to study an essential aspect of ourselves. Utilising a wide range of examples of language use involving President Trump, the New Zealand referendum on smacking, and so on, this lecture aims to show how fascinating theoretical linguistics is as an academic subject.
