Gil Norton and Clint Murphy in conversation. Moderated by Greg Haver.

GIL NORTON is internationally known for his production work with Foo Fighters, Pixies, Throwing Muses, Belly, Jimmy Eat World, Counting Crows, Twin Atlantic, Maximo Park, Pulled Apart by Horses and James. Norton started his career as an engineer at Liverpool’s Amazon Studios, he soon emerged as a world-class record producer, working with highly influential bands Pixies on their “Doolittle” and “Bossa Nova” albums. Some of his most high-profile work came when he produced “The Colour and the Shape” and the Grammy award winning “Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace” for Foo Fighters.

CLINT MURPHY is an award-winning producer, engineer and mixer. His work includes a diverse range of artists such as Manic Street Preachers, Thunder, Melanie C, Devilskin, RØMANS, Opshop, Bic Runga, the Feelers, 50 Cent and Busted. Murphy began his career as an engineer at York Street Studios in Auckland, working with both New Zealand and international artists and producers, securing a NZ Music Award for his work on Blindspott’s self-titled album. Murphy won the 2017 NZ Music Award Best Engineer Devilskin’s second album “Be Like The River”, having also produced both the band’s albums to date.

Gil and Clint will by led in a moderated Q&A but GREG HAVER Greg is an award-winning producer with a background in engineering, programming and drumming. He built his impressive reputation with artists including the Manic Street Preachers, Melanie C, INME, Opshop, John Cale, Catatonia, Super Furry Animals and Bullet For My Valentine. He’s renowned for his diverse production skills and innovative arrangements.
