Event description
Questioning accepted narratives. Exploring divisive issues. Reclaiming our history to stimulate the right conversations here and now.

About this Event

In 2019, the Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust performed All Roads Lead to Ngātapa to full houses at Te Taiarāwhiti Arts Festival and Te Papa.

An innovative production that explored the intricate history of Rongowhakaata, their story resonated with audiences from different walks of life and had a profound impact throughout New Zealand.

This year, the Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust is back with a new ground-breaking theatre piece that dives deeper into our past, using mixed media, music, visual projections, live artworks and rangatahi youth voices.

Te Papa is proud to partner with our iwi in residence for this encore performance in front of Te Hau ki Tūranga.

A work that aims to propel our society into an equitable future. Nau mai, Haere Mai! All Welcome!
