Registrations for Orientation Day are full.

You are still welcome to take part from 11.30am onwards...

⦁ Get sorted for your first day at UC in the Student Services Hub.

UC Orientation is the best way for new students to find out what university life has to offer. A range of events are happening:

  • Orientation Day (O Day)
  • Māori Orientation
  • Pasifika Orientation (Get FRESH).

Whether you are a first-year student or parent/whānau, each person attending the above UC Orientation events needs to register here.

Registration is free and you will need to bring your ticket with you on the day.

Orientation Day (O Day), Friday 17 February
O Day is a chance for new students and their whānau to get familiar with the campus, find out more about their College, ask questions, make new friends and get sorted for day one at UC.

Attendance at Orientation Day is expected and considered essential for a successful start, so please plan to attend. More information about UC Orientation Day

Maori Orientation, Thursday 16 February
UC Māori Orientation Day is a chance for new students and whānau to be welcomed to UC, meet with the Māori Development Team (MDT) and find out about the support services on offer.

Pasifika Orientation (Get FRESH), Thursday 16 February
Get FRESH aims to give new Pasifika students the opportunity to meet with other Pacific students, the Pacific Development Team and others who will help give you the best possible start to your first year at University.

Which Orientation do I need to attend?
Attendance at Orientation Day is expected and considered essential for a successful start, so please plan to attend. UC Orientation Day

If you are a Māori student you may want to attend Māori Orientation held at the start of the academic year. http://www.canterbury.ac.nz/maoristudents/orientation.shtml

If you are a Pacific student you may want to attend the Pasifika Orientation held at the start of the academic year. http://www.canterbury.ac.nz/pacificstudents/getfresh/

If you are a new international student you need to attend the International Student Welcome during Arrival Week and must register for this seperately. http://www.canterbury.ac.nz/international/international-welcome/

What else is happening?
UCSA (University Canterbury Students' Association) also have a programme (O-Week) of music and events. You can check out all events on the UCSA website. Tickets to O-Week do sell out, so book your place at NZ’s biggest Orientation festival by grabbing an early bird combo at: ucsa.org.nz.

Can I update my registration information?
