Did you know that up to 50 percent of women experience breast pain during exercise, and many are wearing the wrong size or type of sports bra?
At AUT Millennium, we believe females deserve reliable, evidence-based information about every part of their health, and we recognise that breast health is a crucial but often overlooked aspect of women’s wellbeing and athletic success.
This event provides a safe, supportive space for all women to access expert advice, hear from specialists and normalise conversations about breast health. From understanding bra support and preventing injuries to raising awareness around breast cancer, the goal is to equip women with practical knowledge that enhances comfort, confidence and physical capability.
Breast health affects participation, movement and overall physical wellbeing, yet it is too often left out of sporting discussions. This Be the Best She Can Be session will cover essential topics every woman should know, including:
Breast structure and support – why the right sports bra matters, how to choose one and the impact on comfort and activity.
Breast injuries and pain – what to watch for, when to seek help and strategies to prevent discomfort.
Breast cancer awareness – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, highlighting the importance of early education, monitoring and self-care.
Normalising the conversation – breaking down barriers of embarrassment or stigma so women feel informed and empowered to take care of their health.
By addressing these issues openly, this event will provide practical guidance and support to help women of all ages move confidently, feel comfortable and stay healthy both in sport and everyday life.
