Description

CAN WE... DELIVER TOMORROW’S MEDICINE TODAY?

Around 38,000 people experience a stroke every day and this number is expected to rise. There’s an urgent need to improve stroke care and rehabilitation through innovative research. The University of Auckland is at the forefront of such research, contributing to groundbreaking stroke recovery tools and technology that are now part of routine clinical practice worldwide. However, there’s plenty more work to be done.

Professor Cathy Stinear specialises in predicting and promoting recovery after stroke and turning neuroscience discoveries into clinical applications. Join us to hear her describe how conducting this research locally, rather than overseas, accelerates the translation of evidence into clinical practice for New Zealanders. Vice-Chancellor Professor Stuart McCutcheon will welcome alumni and friends to this event, a wonderful opportunity to catch up with fellow graduates from your University.

Please note: venue details will be provided by email the week before the event.
