When a Baby Dies: Caring for Parents; Caring for Self


A half-day workshop presented by Dr Deborah Davis, developmental psychologist from Colorado, USA, and author of Empty Cradle, Broken Heart. Dr. Davis will talk about the key features of quality bereavement care, and the importance of self-care, specifically dealing with secondary trauma and developing caregiver resilience.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking is available on site. Directions on how to find the venue:

From Town:

  • 5min drive from the New Plymouth CBD
  • Head south on SH3 (Eliot Street)
  • Burgess Hill Road is located 5km from CBD on left hand side

From South:

  • Travel to the end of the passing lane on Burgess Hill
  • U-turn at Mangorei Road intersection
  • Then back to Burgess Hill Road (100m)
  • Navman Address: 309 Junction Road

What's the refund policy?

Refunds are available up to one working day prior to the scheduled workshop (for a Monday workshop, we'll need to be advised on the previous Friday).

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We'd prefer you did but it's not essential.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes it's okay if someone uses your ticket and attends in your place. Please let us know on the day for Health & Safety reasons.
