Vestibular Rehabilitation Competency Course 2024

This course is an intense evidence-based course designed for physiotherapists and doctors with experience in treating people with vestibular disorders. The course includes lectures and laboratory session. All participants will be expected to demonstrate assessment skills to the faculty, including oculomotor examination, with an emphasis on the identification of nystagmus and canal involvement, as well as balance, gait, fall risk and functional assessments. Participants will also be expected to demonstrate appropriate treatment procedures for BPPV affecting posterior, anterior and horizontal canals for both cupulolithiasis and canalithiasis and for unilateral and bilateral, peripheral or central vestibular disorders, including traumatic brain injury.
The course includes written, video based, and practical skills examinations.
