Event description
How has NZ moved away from conventional food production to ensure food production processes are responding to changing consumer needs?

About this Event

Producing food in systems that enable farmers and growers to maintain their social license to operate is essential to creating value for Aotearoa New Zealand’s Food and Fibre sector. The shift towards hyper transparency and a Zero Carbon economy are putting pressure on these systems to transition and create new ways of working and thinking about the future. This event will explore what pressures the sector is facing, what ways of farming and cutting-edge technology are already being used to help enable this future and how we can work together to meet global food demand whilst producing food in harmony with our environment.

Some pathways may be new, but some may be already known – both are opportunities to create further value and tell the New Zealand food story better. Transforming farming requires a cross-sector approach, with farmers, growers, knowledge, research, science and Government all coming together to help establish new ways of working. What will it take to create these collaborations?
