Event description

Description

Our final speaker event of 2017 is here! We are hugely excited to welcome a shooting star in the business world and wāhine kaha, Cassandra Crowley. Her list of achievements is undeniably jaw-dropping, not least for a woman still in her thirties.

A qualified lawyer and chartered accountant, she has a CV full of high profile leadership positions and directorships. She recently became the youngest ever appointed president of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. And in 2016 Cassandra was the only woman among nine recipients of a business scholarship awarded by the Prime Minister’s office.

In the latest chapter of her success story, Cassandra is kaitumuaki (chief executive) of Te Korowai o Ngaruahine Trust, where she manages the iwi's Treaty of Waitangi settlement package and oversees a multi-million dollar budget.

It’s clear to see we all have a lot to learn from this impressive wahine. Cassandra will share how she’s got to where she is today, providing precious tips on how to lean in and shine bright. She will also explain why, for her, working together for the good of the iwi as a whole is more important than personal wins. "It's about the kaupapa," she says.

We are delighted to invite you to an evening of drinks, canapés, entrepreneurial wisdom and inspiration. Cassandra will take your questions at the end, sharing her stardust and mana with the group.

This is the third and final Lean In speaker event of the year, following the utterly uplifting Tracey Barnett and Ruth Busch talks.
