🌿 Waikawa Basket Workshop 🌿

Join us for a weaving workshop where you’ll learn to create a waikawa, a beautiful and practical woven basket with a unique style. This taonga is both functional and decorative, and is a wonderful next step for those wanting to grow their raranga skills.

In this workshop you will:

• Be guided step by step through the process of weaving a waikawa
• Learn traditional techniques and tikanga connected to raranga
• Create your own completed basket to take home

✨ Please note: This workshop is a little more advanced than our introductory classes. Having some prior experience with weaving will be helpful – especially if you’ve made a kono or konae (four-corner or two-corner basket) before. If you’re comfortable with basic weaving skills, you’ll find this the perfect opportunity to extend your learning.
