Event description

Description

How do you know you are doing what you say you are doing?

The intergrated and holistic nature of Te Whariki can make it difficult for those outside the ECE sector to see the learning that occurs for children. This workshop focuses on improving our articulation of children's early years learning and the teacher's role in extending that learning, which is crucial to both engaging whānau in children's learning and gaining support for, and understanding of, quality ECE provision.

About the facilitator

With over 20 years experience in the ECE sector, Hayley Whitaker has held a range of roles in the kindergarten and education and care sectors and as a professional development facilitator for ECE services. Hayley is a long-time advocate for quality early childhood education, and has been involved with NZEI Te Riu Roa, the education union, at the national leadership level for 10 years in both elected and paid positions.
