Join us as we embark on this journey to create the ultimate GIS Mapping project from scratch, start to finish, to support Iwi, Hapu and Whanau aspirations for Taiao, Whenua, Whakapapa and Cultural Narratives.
Assumes no prior experience with GIS, but a will to learn and have a tutu!
In this session we will:
- Share with you a range of software and data.
- Scope the kaupapa for this project, its goals and objectives and where to find more support
- Describe some of the key aspirations and areas of application (Whenua, Taiao)
- Look at what GIS software, hardware, data, skills and support we will need
- Show how to access and install ArcGIS Pro and QGIS Desktop.
- Choosing where and how to store your data, backing up and keeping it safe but accessible
- Develop and review a high level plan
